The SPi Group Inc. offers managed billing and settlement services to both Ontario and US markets. Our services enable retailers to quickly enter a market. Within Ontario, we can typically launch a client within 15 to 30 days. By choosing SPi's services, rather than licensing, customizing, implementing and operating a billing and settlement system, retailers can avoid the investment in back-office systems and staff needed to comply with market standards. The service can easily accommodate specific requirements, such as electricity contract details, business rules and data exchange specifications. With SPi managing the back office for billing and settlement, retailers can focus on winning customers and driving their core business.
Using its CBASS technology, SPi currently handles over 50% of the retailer-enrolled transactions within the Ontario market. The SPi Group Inc. is currently expanding its business into the New York market, and will be providing services and solutions in the near future to other states that are either deregulated or are in the process of deregulating.
Retailer Managed Services Ontario
Energy retailers operating in Ontario's electricity market have complex business requirements placed upon them by the market rules for customer enrolments, drops, moves, billing and settlement. Retailers must implement and operate a billing and settlement system, customized to the Ontario market as well as their own internal business processes (e.g., IT interfaces, customer contracts, etc.). This system must communicate with local distribution companies (LDCs) through an Electronic Business Transaction (EBT) hub service provider.
Retailer Managed Services US Markets
Energy retailers operating in US gas and electricity markets have complex business requirements placed upon them under North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB) compliance standards with EDI and other technologies in use. These standards involve customer enrolments, drops, moves, billing and settlement. Retailers must implement and operate billing systems, customized to their particular market as well as their own internal business processes (e.g., IT interfaces, customer contracts, etc.). This system must communicate with local distribution utilities.
