Recent Activities
  • 20-Minute Toronto Makeover

    On April 23rd, 2010 at 2pm, several SPiers joined forces to help clean up Toronto. Armed with garbage bags, rubber gloves and a determination to do our part for the environment, we hit the streets (the sidewalks actually) for 20 minutes to pick up garbage and make Toronto a cleaner place to live and work.

    This is the second annual 20-Minute Toronto Makeover that SPi has been involved with.

  • Haiti Relief Fund

    In January 2010, SPi employees held a bake sale and collected cash donations in the amount of $235. SPi matched this and further donated $250, money normally spent on a company lunch. This brought our total cash donation to $725, which was sent to the Canadian Red Cross in hopes of helping the relief effort

  • CIBC Run For The Cure

    On October 4, 2009, 16 SPiers ran for the cure, raising over $2,275 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. SPi was represented at both the Toronto and Barrie locations once again this year

  • Second Annual SPi Charity Golf Event Raises Funds for SickKids Foundation

    On May 29, 2009, SPi held its second charity golf event at the Saw Whet Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario, raising over $5,000 for the SickKids Foundation. Despite the rainy weather, participation was great with over 50 golfers! We would like to thank our sponsors and participants for their support and making this event a great success!   • SPi climbs the CN Tower for WWF
  • On April 16, 2009, two SPi teams with a total of 11 people that included SPi staff, family and friends climbed the CN Tower for the second year in a row to raise money for WWF Canada. SPi teams placed 30th and 175th of 291 corporate teams, raising over $3,000 for WWF. Ron Clark had our fastest individual time � 13:37 minutes, which was 31st out of 1,862 climbers. Other really fast climbers included Jeremy Schlichter at 14:02 minutes (44th place) and Howard Wong at 14:16 minutes (57th place).  

  • SPi Runs for the Cure for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation

    On October 5, 2008, nineteen employees proudly represented SPi and raised over $2,500 for the CIBC Run for the Cure. The team ran or walked the 5 km circuit with a crowd of almost 30,000 in Toronto and 1,880 in Barrie.

     

     

  • First Annual SPi Charity Golf Event Raises Funds for SickKids Foundation

    On June 3 2008, SPi held its first charity golf event at the Saw Whet Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario. Participation was terrific with over 50 golfers. All proceeds from the event were donated to the SickKids Foundation. We would like to thank our sponsors and all who attended for making this event a phenomenal success.

  • Two SPi Teams Climb the CN Tower for the World Wildlife Fund
    On April 17, 2008, nine SPi employees formed two teams that entered the World Wildlife Fund’s 18th Annual CN Tower Climb Team Challenge. Highlights from the climb include Team SPi #1 finishing 13th out of 47 all-male teams, with SPi employees Jeremy Schlichter and Howard Wong coming in with the 25th and 42nd fastest individual times out of 1,745 climbers.
