• January, 2010

SPi is pleased to announce that SPi and Systrends Canada have entered into an agreement to merge their operations in Ontario. As a result of the merger, the Systrends hub service and spoke product will be discontinued in Ontario.

SPiers raised $750 through a bake sale and corporate donations for the Canadian Red Cross, to help the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

SPi sponsored and was part of the annual EDIST conference that took place from January 20 to January 22 at the Markham Hilton. SPi was represented as part of the ERTH Group of Companies alongside other ERTH subsidiaries.

SPi is pleased to announce that Shelley Lewis is now the new President and CEO of The SPi Group. Shelley was previously the Vice President of Finance and Administration. She brings with her a plethora of experience in finance, human resources, customer service and communications. Prior to joining SPi, Shelley was instrumental in leading Oakville Hydro's regulatory activities during market opening.

SPi raised over $2,200 for the CIBC Run for the Cure. A total of seventeen people represented SPi at the run in Toronto.

  SPi held its second annual charity golf event at Saw Whet Golf Course in Oakville on May 28, 2009 and raised $5,500 for the SickKids Foundation. For a list of sponsors, click here.

• April, 2009

  Two SPi teams participated in the CN Tower Climb for the WWF. There were a total of 11 people in both teams that included SPi staff, family and friends. SPi teams placed 30th and 175th of 291 corporate teams, raising over $3,000 for WWF.

• March, 2009
  SPi was a sponsor of KEMA's Annual Executive Forum that was held from March 2 to 3, 2009 at Houston, Texas, signaling SPi's foray into other jurisdictions. Additionally, SPi was also a sponsor of EDA's Annual General Meeting and ENERCOM conference that was held from March 8 to 11, 2009 at the Fairmont Royal York. At ENERCOM, SPi launched a plethora of new products and services including the EBT Exception Viewer, Web Presentment, Retail Settlement Proposal for Smart Metering and MDM/R Implementation for Smart Metering.
• London, ON, March 12, 2009 --- Jeff Pettit, President and CEO of ERTH Corporation announced today that it has signed an agreement to acquire The SPi Group Inc., a Toronto-based provider of services and solutions to the utility and energy industry. The transaction is scheduled to close on April 30, 2009.

  The SPi Group is pleased to announce that Ron Osborne has joined the company in the position of Vice President of Business Development and Sales. Mr. Osborne comes to SPi with over 20 years of experience in management, sales, and business development roles in the energy industry. He was previously Vice President of Sales and Marketing with EBT Express, one of SPi's predecessor companies prior to Ontario's electricity market opening. In that role, he was instrumental in developing and establishing SPi as the premier vendor of EBT hub services in Ontario.
